Description: | Au pairs will gather with their community counselor to socialize, have pizza, and discuss the importance of literacy related to their child care duties. Additionally, one of the Brazilian au pairs will give a global awareness presentation sharing about her Brazilian culture. Au Pair in America (APIA) has provided the best live-in cultural child care opportunities to host families across the country and au pairs from around the world for more than 35 years. The cultural exchange that occurs enriches families and brings the world closer together, increasing global awareness. Hosting an au pair means children will gain a wider cultural perspective by learning about the culture of the au pair's home country. No matter what their age, children may learn to like a wider variety of foods, begin learning a second language, and come to appreciate songs, stories, and holidays based in another culture. Simultaneously, au pairs learn about American culture, become full-fledged family members, and take classes to further their education. It's a win-win for everyone! |
